The STIHL KMA 120 R is a professional-grade 36V battery-powered KombiMotor built around a modular system. A single power unit connects to the full range of STIHL KombiTool attachments – swap between them to prune, trim, mow, clear, or cut, depending on what the day demands. Attachment changes are straightforward: insert the tool into the shaft, tighten, and you’re ready to work. Note: not compatible with the FSB-KM attachment.

The 36V brushless EC motor delivers professional-level performance with the efficiency and durability that brushless technology provides. It runs quietly enough for noise-sensitive environments – schools, hospitals, residential areas – while still having the power to handle demanding commercial work. There are no petrol fumes, minimal vibration, and significantly reduced noise compared to equivalent petrol tools.

Power is controlled via a two-speed system on the handle. ECO mode (Level 1) is suited to lighter tasks like lawn edging and maximises battery runtime for extended sessions. Full Speed mode (Level 2) delivers maximum power for heavier work such as leaf clearing and thick vegetation. Depending on the KombiTool attached, infinitely variable speed control is also available for more precise output.

The ergonomic loop handle adjusts in height to suit your working position, reducing fatigue and improving control across uneven terrain, slopes, and tight spaces. The KMA 120 R is compatible with the full range of STIHL AP batteries – the AP 500 S offers maximum runtime for extended jobs, while lighter options such as the AP 200 or AP 300 improve balance during prolonged use, for example when hedge trimming. Working times vary by KombiTool attachment.
