Allett Kensington 17B Petrol Cylinder Mower

The Allett Kensington 17B is a petrol cylinder mower built for lawn enthusiasts who demand a professional-quality finish across larger gardens. Powered by a 127cc Briggs & Stratton XR550 four-stroke engine with recoil start, it combines reliable performance with a self-propelled drive system suited to lawns up to 280 m².

The six-bladed cutting cylinder delivers up to 79 cuts per metre across a 43.2 cm (17") cutting width, producing a precise, scissor-like cut that encourages denser, more upright grass growth. Cutting height is controlled via Allett’s infinitely variable micro-set system, with a range of 6–32 mm. A zinc-plated steel front roller and double-section rear steel roller with differential ensure consistent ground contact for clear, symmetrical lawn stripes — with no wheel marks. A fixed adjustable grass rake lifts surface debris such as moss and thatch, while a spring tine comb raises grass blades before cutting for an even, blemish-free result.

The Allett QX (Quick Exchange) cartridge system allows the blade cassette to be removed and swapped for a range of optional attachments including aerators, scarifiers, lawn brushes, dethatchers, and Verticut cartridges. An optional ten-bladed cutting cassette is also available for a finer finish. This transforms the mower into a year-round lawn care system.

The 62-litre grassbox reduces the frequency of emptying on larger lawns. Handlebars offer three height positions and fold for storage and transport. An auxiliary wheel kit is included as standard for tackling coarser or overgrown grass. The 2-litre fuel tank supports extended mowing sessions without frequent refills.
