The Mountfield 1543H-SD is a hydrostatic side-discharge garden tractor designed for larger gardens and paddocks up to 3 acres. Powered by a STIGA ST 500 452cc single-cylinder petrol engine producing 8.4kW at 2800rpm, with hydrostatic transmission – speed and direction are controlled by foot pedal, no gear changes required.
The 108cm twin-blade cutting deck covers ground efficiently, discharging clippings to the side – well suited to longer or denser grass. A mulching plate is included if you prefer to return finely chopped clippings to the lawn as a natural fertiliser. Seven cutting height positions ranging from 25–80mm are adjusted by lever, and blade engagement is electric.
Deck cleaning is simple: connect a hose to the deck nozzle, turn on the water, and engage the blades. A mulch plate and towing hitch are included as standard, with a range of towed accessories available separately. Battery charger is available to purchase separately. Backed by a 5-year extended manufacturer’s warranty (T&Cs apply).
